ETRO Menswear Spring Summer Collection 2012

Menswear Spring Summer 2012 Collection is Combinations of colours and materials: sailors, playboys and intellectuals all meet up amidst the colours and fragrances of Provence, and allow themselves to be lulled by their memories. Bright, lively, energetic colours invade the fabrics, covering the prints, and blending in with the weaves with sudden bursts of cheerfulness. The silhouettes are slim and impeccable, the sartorial cut of the jackets and outfits is evident; the fabrics are charged with light, monochromatic in the hues of summer fruits or printed in brilliant shades. The contrasting prints on the collars of the shirts feature alongside jackets with precious lapels, with contrasting piping. The sporty jackets are lined with Paisley prints, the coloured pocket handkerchiefs peek out from the pockets. Marine winds call for light shoes, colourful pullovers worn over the shoulders and impalpapble trench coats. The paisley does not play hide and seek, but it shows itself on the jackets and shirts, and embroiders V-neck sweaters. It is pure joie de vivre.

Menswear is joie de vivre captured in full, but with an aftertaste of elegant melancholy. Kean has drawn on constants, the traditional elements of fine clothing for sources of inspiration, translating them into his language. And taking in a journey along the Mediterranean coast on the way, allowing himself to be enveloped by the indefinable feelings that seascapes transmit. A walk along the Cote d’Azur, where the densities of the blue provide a backdrop for the exuberance of orange, lavender and strawberry, whilst the calm of earthy colours fades down to sand. In an intimate climate pervaded by cheerful hints, the volumes are generous, the light fabrics welcome the slightest breeze and the colours are saturated. The shirts in three fabrics alternate with polo shirts with drop shoulders, and are worn with constructed, sartorial jackets without excessive precision. The Paisley is light, barely there in the ton-sur-ton sweaters, or else it makes a striking appearance in its more dazzling hues for outfits, jackets and trousers. source
