John Galliano Fall 2012 Menswear Collection | MENSWEAR by Bill Gaytten
This season John Galliano menswear is inspired by the infamous
characters of prohibition America. From gangsters to law enforcement and
American sports stars, as illustrated by J.C Leyendecker and Norman
Rockwell. Drawing inspiration for colour, silhouette and texture from
the iconic hard men of the era.
We start the show with the
original kingpin, Al Capone. Oversized silhouettes, sartorial cutting
and finish. Double-breasted pin stripe suits, spear point shirts,
graphic checks and tweed baggy trousers. Fox fur, patent leather and
trilby hats add luxury sensibility with a harder edge. A flash of
metallic silver, like the edge of the switch-blade, complete the
menacing charcoal and black palette.
